In and around Broad Ripple, plenty of dog-friendly destinations cater to the large concentration of dog owners in the area. Drive by Broad Ripple Park on the weekend, and you’ll see happy dogs roaming freely inside the Bark Park. Pick up the Monon Trail at Broad Ripple Avenue, and you’ll see dogs walking and jogging alongside their humans.
Many businesses in the area allow dogs on the premises, and some apartments for rent near Broad Ripple are dog-friendly. Broad Ripple, and South Broad Ripple (SoBro) are ideal neighborhoods for dog owners.
Health code prohibits dogs from being inside a restaurant that prepares and serves food, but dogs are permitted in outdoor dining areas. Several Broad Ripple restaurants, including Brugge Brasserie, Flatwater, and Plump’s Last Shot, are known for providing dog-friendly service (and for providing a fresh bowl of water for thirsty pups).
Services for Dogs
If you need dog grooming, training, boarding, or daycare, you can find it in this neighborhood. Doggie daycares abound, too, and some offer grooming and training.
Two large pet stores on Keystone Avenue have everything a dog might need, and a boutique-style shop on College Avenue carries pet foods free of corn, wheat, soy, and chemical products.
