How to Find Reasonably Priced Indianapolis Apartments

Indianapolis has thousands of available apartments throughout the city, from tiny efficiency units to high-rise penthouses. Somewhere between those two extremes lies the ideal apartment for the majority of renters – a place that’s roomy, in a good area, and won’t cost a fortune to rent.

If you’re starting the search for a reasonably priced Indianapolis apartment, here’s what you need to consider:

Location

A $1,000-a-month apartment could be 500 square feet, or 1,200 square feet, depending on where it is. If you want to live in Broad Ripple or in the heart of downtown, you can expect to pay a lot more than that for the smallest available units.

Expanding your search to areas outside your ideal neighborhood (but near it) could help you find properties that work for your budget.

Amenities

The near-northside of Indianapolis has reasonably priced apartments in older walk-up style buildings. With few exceptions, though, you won’t have access to a fitness center or swimming pool when you live in a vintage building, and most walk-ups don’t have balconies or patios. Most new Indianapolis apartments have a fitness center and pool.

Condition

Older apartments are sometimes inexpensive, simply because they’re outdated. If you prefer modern design elements and new appliances, you’ll want to look for a new or renovated apartment.

While a newer apartment may have a higher rent, utility costs tend to be lower in new buildings than in old buildings. Aging apartments with large single-pane windows are costly to heat in the winter (and some older buildings don’t have central air-conditioning).

The Perfect Combination

7 Pointe Apartments on Allisonville Road is a newly remodeled community, with a pool, fitness center, and ample parking. Our units feature modern gray plank flooring and updated open-concept kitchens. We’re in an ideal location – about halfway between downtown and the north side, and close to Broad Ripple.

You shouldn’t have to pay a fortune for a modern apartment in Indianapolis, and at 7 Pointe, you don’t have to – our spacious, pet-friendly apartments are reasonably priced.
